Photo of Skyler Murray Skyler Murray is the Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent for North Carolina Cooperative Extension-McDowell County Center. Skyler grew up on her family’s fifth-generation farm in Rutherford County, where they grew row crops and raised livestock. Skyler developed a strong passion for agriculture at a very young age. She grew up actively involved in many of the NC 4-H youth livestock programs.

Skyler graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in Horticulture with a minor in Plant and Environmental Science as well as a minor in Animal and Veterinary Science. Prior to joining our staff, Skyler worked at the Biltmore Estate where she worked with a variety of livestock and interacted with the public. Most recently, she has worked in their hydroponic greenhouse operation growing a variety of produce.

Skyler has shown livestock throughout her youth. This summer, Skyler’s heifer was the Supreme Champion Heifer at the NC Junior Beef Roundup.
