Dr. Tom Van Dyke, DVM joins NC State College of Veterinarian Medicine as an Assistant Clinical Professor and Extension Beef Specialist.

The NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine has officially hired Dr. Tom Van Dyke to serve as Assistant Clinical Professor and Extension Beef Veterinarian. Dr. Van Dyke graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1976. For thirty years, Tom has owned and operated a farm animal ambulatory veterinary practice providing standard health care as well as herd health, production, and business consulting for beef and dairy clients in Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina. Tom has also worked for twelve years in the pharmaceutical industry as a professional services veterinarian providing technical and medical support to sales, marketing, and R&D. During his veterinary career, Tom has also owned and operated his own beef and dairy farms.

When Dr. Van Dyke is not practicing veterinary medicine, you can find him making music, camping, and cattle farming. We are thrilled to have such a knowledgable and talented veterinarian with years of field experience join our Beef Extension team.
